CrossFit Pan Pacific Masters Games: Good Luck Sue

Wishing CFNW Athlete Sue all the best as she competes at the Pan Pacific Masters championships on the Gold Coast this weekend. This is the first time the event has included a functional fitness/CrossFit style event. If you live on the Gold Coast you can head down to the Runaway Bay Sports Complex and witness all the action.

CrossFit and Weight Loss

People often enquire to us with the sole purpose of losing weight - sometimes it is necessary for that individual and other times it isn't. Regardless, CrossFit alone is not enough to lose weight IF your diet is crappy! The saying, "You can't out train a bad diet," is 100% true. For the month of November, we will be undertaking a 30 day transformation challenge, this is NOT focused on weight loss - the focus is on transforming our bodies in different ways, for some weight loss, others mass gain, others increasing lean muscle mass and decreasing body fat. The key to the challenge is implementing positive changes which can be maintained for the long term - eating well and training consistently. Participants will be mentored throughout the challenge on the best way to meet their individual goals.

Member of the Month October: Sarah Tole!

Congratulations to Sarah Tole who has been voted member of the month for October. Sarah has always been one our most dedicated members but this month has really shown how truly committed she is to her training. Following a broken toe, Sarah has still hobbled into the gym and trained every single day!! Sarah has also managed to remain upbeat throughout the whole process.

CrossFit Technique: The Overhead Squat

Breaking down the overhead squat in slow motion with Chris Spealler. Looks can be deceiving, the Overhead Squat requires more than strength, it requires good thoracic, shoulder, hip and ankle mobility - all of which can be worked on, and good core stability.

Rock Climbing This Saturday

Rock climbing this Saturday from 1:30-3:30pm - if you put down your name then you will be charged today and I will be paying for the group on the day. The cost is $18 for adults and $14 for kids.
