The Australia Regional Qualifier for the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games is only FIVE days away! We are so impressed that so many of you are going to be there to support all our CrossFit Norwest athletes competing to qualify for the 2012 Games in LA. We have one team and one individual athlete competing this year and wish them all the best for the BIG weekend ahead!

CrossFit in Sydney: Persevering through Injury

Regardless of the quality and quantity of your training or what sports you play, injuries cannot always be prevented. Dealing with and overcoming an injury will make you both physically and mentally stronger, as well as more knowledgeable in rehab and mobility. A stereotype exists in the wider fitness community, that CrossFitters see injuries as "part and parcel" or "badges of honor," this is not the case for CrossFit or CrossFit Norwest. Rather, we train SMART to prevent injuries from occurring and when they do, build and stabilise problem areas or issues (mobility??) to avoid the same thing from happening again.

CrossFit in Castle Hill: Front Squats

Why work front squats, when back squats are so much more comfortable and appear to be achieving the same purpose? Regularly working on front squats means your body will be prepared for supporting large amounts of weight in the rack position (think cleans). Work on this movement and you will see improvements translate to all your lifts – cleans, thrusters and jerks.
