Breaking down the overhead squat in slow motion with Chris Spealler. Looks can be deceiving, the Overhead Squat requires more than strength, it requires good thoracic, shoulder, hip and ankle mobility - all of which can be worked on, and good core stability.

Rock Climbing This Saturday

Rock climbing this Saturday from 1:30-3:30pm - if you put down your name then you will be charged today and I will be paying for the group on the day. The cost is $18 for adults and $14 for kids.

Beginner CrossFit Classes

CrossFit Norwest offers beginner CrossFit and weightlifting courses and classes, along with stretch classes and kids programs. Since our inception we have catered to all levels from grandparents to mums, from teens to kids and from athletes to formerly couch potatoes! We have taught individuals to respect their bodies and find their inner athlete, have sent athletes to the CrossFit Games in America and have taught people what it feels like to belong to a community.

 

Start off with our Beginner CrossFit course or Fundamentals.

CrossFit Paleo Plans: Protein Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Serves: 16-18

Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup smooth almond butter
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop (35 grams) Formulx Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add all ingredients in bowl and mix well until combined.
  3. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to scoop out batter and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. The batter should make 16-18 cookies.
  4. Baking for 15-18 minutes until cooked through.
