As you may have noticed, recently we have been playing around with the programming for CrossFit Norwest.  Raw Strength and Conditioning will now be hosting the programming for Advanced athletes wishing to compete at the CrossFit games. These workouts will be ADVANCED, they are not CrossFit but will train you to excel at CrossFit, they are NOT designed to be scaled. The CrossFit Norwest site will program traditional CrossFit workouts which will help you to achieve your fitness goals by increasing work capacity across broad time domains.

The CrossFit Norwest scheduled classes will follow the CrossFit Norwest WOD shown every day on this site. The Advanced RAW program will be shown on RAW.

CrossFitters prefer Omega 3s and Chia Seeds

We've covered it before but Omega 3 fatty acids are the good guys, they reduce inflammation and balance out the heavily biased saturated and Omega 6 fats found in most normal diets. The best way to get more Omega 3s, and the number one supplement for the majority of CrossFitters (particularly in Sydney), is to supplement your diet with fish oil. Liquid is best and read the label to see how much DHA it contains. Here's an Omega 3 breakfast shake for your Sunday morning and a bit about the super food that it contains.

Recent studies have claimed this gem can help lower cholesterol? Green tea is thought to be an herbal panacea of sorts, believed by many to have a wide range of health benefits. But whether it can actually produce measurable effects on cholesterol is a question that has drawn much debate.

Non Alcoholic Beer Aids Marathon Recovery

Yes, the title does read NON ALCOHOLIC! A new study reports that beer is an excellent recovery beverage for marathon runners. But you may not want to start a raucous celebration just yet. The beer was effective only if it was nonalcoholic.
