The Olympic Lifts: Hips Meet Bar

Olympic Lifting (the snatch and clean & jerk) is less about brute strength and more about technique, the tiniest error can make a huge difference in the amount of weight you can move. There are two common mistakes made when performing the clean and the snatch, (1) not hitting full extension and (2) incorrect foot positioning on the landing. The key to both these lifts is to accelerate (explosively pull) the bar to maximum height, then pull yourself underneath it, landing in a low, stable position.
