Whether you wish to be the next CrossFit superstar or are purely interested in health and longevity - you need some Active Recovery in your life. How much active recovery do you currently have in your week?
Active recovery can be anything from a long walk, some Bikram Yoga, basic PNF session or committing to a foam roller regularly! My point is you need to put something back in the tank when you're training hard regularly (which is hopefully what you're all doing right??). I'm always amazed and surprised when I see CrossFitters pushing their bodies to the extreme, and then doing no recovery stretching or body maintenance. Are you serious? Active recovery and maintenance will improve your flexibility, prevent injury, help your body to recover faster and improve your range of motion. If you need some suggestions in this area talk to others at the box or check out the Mobility guru Kelly Starrett @ Mobility WOD.
