As you may have noticed, recently we have been playing around with the programming for CrossFit Norwest.  Raw Strength and Conditioning will now be hosting the programming for Advanced athletes wishing to compete at the CrossFit games. These workouts will be ADVANCED, they are not CrossFit but will train you to excel at CrossFit, they are NOT designed to be scaled. The CrossFit Norwest site will program traditional CrossFit workouts which will help you to achieve your fitness goals by increasing work capacity across broad time domains.

The CrossFit Norwest scheduled classes will follow the CrossFit Norwest WOD shown every day on this site. The Advanced RAW program will be shown on RAW.

Kicking off at 11am this SATURDAY at CrossFit Norwest, Dazza Jackson will be having his OFFICIAL attempt at the Guiness World Record for a Standing Box Jump. Come down to the box and give him your support!

How good are you at sticking to your training program? More importantly, how about your diet?  Think you can improve? Really?  Science says no. Forty years after succumbing to a mouth-watering marshmallow as a child, middle-aged adults still have a hard time resisting temptation, a new study finds. The results, published online August 29 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, suggest that willpower remains unchanged with age. In other words, you’re stuck with the will power you’ve got!  So, if you’re the kind of person who trains religiously 6 days a week and sticks to their strict Paleo diet, then well done!  Things should work out great for you. For everyone else..... ??  Although willpower appeared to be relatively stable in the study group, it’s possible that particular strategies can change people’s abilities to delay gratification. There is hope!

Today's WOD:

A) Build to a heavy set of 3 Front Squat.

B) 15-12-and 9 reps, for time of:

* Thrusters 60/40kg

* x 2 Chest to Bar Pull-ups
