The 17th of April was the opening of CrossFit Gold Coast. CrossFit Gold Coast held a games style day with workouts that were suitable for all participants to perform but were still challengining enough to test work capacity across broad time.

The workouts were:

WOD 1:

10-20-30 reps of:
Thruster
SDHP
30kg/20kg

WOD 2:

AMRAP 10 mins of:
10 Pushups
15 Box Jumps
20 Double Unders
Run 100m

WOD 3:

Max rep in 5 Mins of:
Ground to overhead
40kg/30kg
Based on ranking from previous 2 workouts you will be required to perform penalty burpees before commencing the Ground to Overhead. e.g. 1st place after 2 WOD’s will incur 44 burpees, last place after 2 WODs will incur 1 burpee

 

CrossFit Norwest based in Sydney's outer suburbs had 2 athletes attend the event. Rob was ranked 1st in both the 1st and 2nd workout and ranked 1st overal while Kez was ranked 23rd after the 2 workouts. Ron incurred a 44 burpee penalty for the finak workout while Kez incurred 21 burpees.

Rob came first with a final lift of 50 reps after his penalty with Kez coming a close second with 48 reps. Both finished 1st and 2nd respectivley.
