WOW! What a weekend. Jess Coughlan is CrossFit Games bound. Regionals is always an exciting weekend, getting to see our athletes compete. The atmosphere within the Norwest supporters for that final women’s heat was fantastic. To see all the members on their feet screaming and cheering on Jess gave me goose bumps. I think it’s fair to say that there were a few watery eyes after that WOD and again when the announcement was made that Jess had made the CrossFit games… I think even Big Bad Bobby Dee shed a few tears. We all know how hard Jess works and I think I speak for us all when I say we are super proud of her!
Let’s not forget Jesse and the team as well. Jesse and all team athletes represented us with such enthusiasm, effort and above all professionalism. To see you conduct yourselves in a way that was a credit to our gym was fantastic, even at times when it seemed that things were not going our way. I was super mum proud of you all and I know that the whole gym was in awe of your performances. I cannot wait to see what the next year of training brings for you all.
Watching Regionals can be an inspiring time for a lot of us. Many of us watch these amazing athletes and get reinspired to train. If you have been in a bit of rut with training, use that inspiration to reset some goals. Think about what you would like to achieve over the next 6 -12 months. What do you need to work on? What are your weaknesses and strengths? Your goal should be realistic but it should be challenging, you need to work to get there. Maybe it’s a goal to compete in the open next year or to place better than you did this year. It doesn’t matter what it is! Decide and write it down. You are more likely to stick to your goal if you write it down. Then make a plan and commit. If you need some help setting your goal and planning let us know, we are more than happy to help.
