At CrossFit Norwest we aim to turn you into functional beings, meaning you can tackle anything that life throws at you – go for a bike ride with the kids, pick up odd objects around the yard, enter a triathlon, enter an olympic weightlifting competition.. We train ALL aspects of fitness NOT just lifting, NOT just cardio, NOT just circus tricks. We offer a variety of different classes; CrossFit, HIIT, Kids, Teens, Stretch, Olympic Weightlifting and Barbell classes at our Mcgraths Hill and Dural premises.
Today, let’s focus on our Olympic Weightlifting and Barbell classes. Whether you are an advanced CrossFitter or a complete beginner honing in on your barbell skills WILL develop your power, mobility, strength and speed – all of which are mediums we use in other areas of our training and life. Not only that you will learn patience, develop lean muscle mass and challenge yourself in new ways.
A typical CrossFit Norwest Barbell class runs for 60minutes and involves a session specific warm-up, Olympic weightlifting technique, and barbell and bodyweight strength. During our CrossFit Norwest McGraths Hill and Dural free intro sessions we cover some of the Olympic weightlifting and barbell movements to give you a basic understanding of why we love to lift!
